CamContacts.com looks like a clone of iFriends created by people who didn`t like iFriends. Although Camcontacts is now well established it doesn`t really seem to be growing at the speed we`re used to from this type of site. The categories the site offers are basically standard with the cute addition of Dungeon which teases the imagination a little I think.
I heard somewhere that the Girl Home Alone - A little shy was the sites personal invention but I find it a little hard to believe. The site was established about 5 years ago and that category literally controls the web. It seems like a playful modification on the popular category which was pretty meaningless to begin with. I don`t think I`ve ever met anyone who was really shy and willing to strip nude on webcam. Perhaps when they write `A little shy` they mean, really only a little...
The mainstream categories have a nice supply of hosts while the more obscure categories, such as groups, gender benders and all male categories are a little harder to fill. Even "Long Term or Marriage" has 20 or so, though I wouldn`t take the category name too literally. Man on Man is the hardest section to fill and sometimes is empty. Recently the site decided it was time to evolve and they have added features like one2one which is really cam2cam in Camcontacts lingo with two way sound as well. This feature has a higher per minute cost but it gives you exclusivity with the host, which in turn improves the value you get for you dollar per min.
If you are looking for someone near your location you can pick a cam by country. You can also choose from a range of languages which include bizarre or should I say rather unusual additions such as Arabic and Hebrew... I saw one host who claimed to speak every language available on the site, a statement which appears a little unrealistic for someone who doesn`t work for the UN. Then again, I suppose orgasms sound good and similar in many languages.
Text chat is free in every section, except it`s really disappointing. You browse through a bunch of tiny thumbnail pictures (same as iFriends, why not improve if you`re going to copy?) and once you`ve chosen your miniature buddy of the moment you are faced with a stills photo to text. To make matters worse the picture keeps disappearing and some promotional text encouraging you to sign up appears instead. I thought the best inducement to register was actually the girl but I guess not everyone agrees with me.
Everything in this site except for the pallid text chat demands registration. Prices here are surprisingly comfortable. You may find hosts who are willing to play for only 0.69/minute, making this one of the cheapest webcam sites on the web. In the hosts profiles there is a link to a photo archive - some of the girls have posted a few pics that are viewable without registering but most of them are only available to registered members. The good news is that it seems that they update their pics regularly so it`s worthwhile to re-check out the same models pics every once in a while.
Camcontacts also runs "myfabsite.com" which is a site where the hosts have started their own private websites. The sites are small and their quality and substance depend on the creativity of the host. Some of them are really cute and offer forums where you can chat with the host and get to know him/her a little better.
On the whole I would say the most exciting things about this site are the prices. There is one last issue I would like to address and that is the issue of design. I just don`t understand it. You design a website for adult hosts, a place where voyeurs can lay their hat down and it ends up looking like a colorful version of a government website. Is that really what people want to see while searching for the model of their dreams? I don`t.
